va-va-voom

I just done a wedding this past weekend and the bride had the cutest panties that had rhinestones and said kiss the bride.  They were so cute that I had to get a picture of them.  I thought as I was taking the picture what a cute little present this would make for the groom.  As I have been thinking about that I've also thought back at the surprising amount of women that have come to me and wanting pictures for their husbands.  So, I'm thinking about offering a special Valentine session for women wanting to give their guy a special gift this year.  Please keep in mind that I don't do anything x rated or with nudity.  It's a nice clean picture with a little sass thrown in there.  Here's a few details of the shoot:
*We can shoot with as much clothes or as little as you feel comfortable (but no nudity please).
*A Valentine appointment comes complementary with a stylist for hair and make up.
*A 5x7 photo book is included with some of the favorite shots from the session.
*Thanks to the beauty of photoshop, I can slim down those trouble spots, take away that cellulite, and get rid of anything you don't want to show(I'm not saying that you have any trouble spots or any cellulite at all.  It's for that other person reading this :)
*Please be ready to bring that sass and unleash that inner diva.
Valentine sessions are $225.00 and that covers everything except any prints or dvd that you may want to purchase.
If you are interested, please shoot me an email or give me a call and we'll get together and get something worked up.  Please know that these pictures will not be on my website.  They are for you and your sweeties eyes only.

2008

Wow, what a year!  I just want to say a huge thank you to my clients who allowed me into their world to grab a few memories.  You will never know what your business means to me.  It has truly set me in motion to follow my heart.  I've been thinking about all the families that I've come across this past year.  I've been so blessed to be able to meet all of you and come away with calling you friend.  I can't wait to see what 2009 holds for sophiemac photography.  I look forward to meeting new friends and unveiling new ideas.  I've got so many new things running around in my mind and I just can't wait to show you guys.  Although I can't ever forget 2008, I am ready for 2009 and the fresh ideas that are coming with it.
I'm going to publish some of my favorite shots of 2008 so be looking for it.  Again, thank you for choosing sophiemac photography......thank you for looking at my website and blog.......thank you for everything.  I started my first blog post entitled, "Jeronimo" and I think it's fitting for the first blog of 2009. I'm jumping in all over again.

Much love,
Bethany

The first gift of the season

This year, The Polar Express has been big....huge in our family!  We've watched it, read it and even danced to it at Imagine Dance studio.  So, tonight, when I gave the first Christmas present away, that's all I could think about.  You know, where Santa gives the first gift of the season?  The sleigh bell?  Ok, maybe we need to go do other things! Anyway, it just reminded me of how much I love giving presents to people.  So......here's what I'm thinking.  I will take the first three people who email me at bethanyandrob@comcast.net and give them 25% off their picture order between the months of January and February.   If you are a repeat customer, don't forget your free 5x7 added on to that!  Merry Christmas!

has anybody seen the snow?

Ok, so I had every intention of getting the perfect snow shot of my babies and my sister-in-laws kids.  However, as you can see there's not a flake in sight.  It took me so long to get the kids ready and it took so long for her to get the kids down the house, it stopped snowing right before we started shooting.  Oh well.  I guess I'll just pay to get the snow effects in photoshop.  I get an A for effort though.  Here's what we ended up with.

Ok Ellen, I know I told you I wouldn't put these up on the website, but I just had to put a few.  I absolutely fell in love with some of these. Thanks for letting me take your pictures... and watch out for that duck!

Here are  some familiar faces to sophiemac photography.  I love taking pictures downtown and I love taking pictures of Shana and Reid...so I had a great time shooting some Christmas shots in Knoxville.  It is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots to shoot! Not because of Nama's or Coffee and Chocolate, but because there's just so much charm and character on Market Square and in the Old City.

jack and drew

Ok, I know that these pictures all look similar, but I just loved each one of them.  I'm not even done editing and I already have so many! I guess when you're this cute it's hard not to get a good picture.  If I have time, I'll post some more on here.
I had such a blast sunday.  I think this was by far the most fun I've had taking pictures.  I think I laughed until I peed my pants when Jack and Drew bit into those gingerbread men.  Thanks guys for giving me such a fun sunday!

She just realized that she bit into Jack's slober.  Ewww! brother germs!

still room for a few more at the tree farm

I still have a few openings for Christmas pictures at the tree farm. If you're interested, give me a call and let's get something set up.
Also, I'm so excited about my old city pictures for Christmas. I can't wait to post them.  Keep a look out for them as well.  I have a few of those appointments left as well!

fall pictures of my babies

It's been a while since I've taken pictures of my babies so here's a few pictures to show them off a little bit.  They look so much like Robert that it's sickening.  I do all the work and he gets all the credit.

I only have two real children, but these two would qualify as mine as well.  These are my nephews whom Sophia and Mac adore.

Here's a few pictures of the Laxton family.  I do believe they are the nicest family I've ever met.  It was a crazy saturday session.  We ended up somewhere unexpected from where I had originally planned and I lost my keys...in all the fall leaves!  If it wasn't for them, I'd still be there sifting through the leaves.

Mr. Cole the duck man

What a fun time I had with Cole at the park taking fall pictures.  I'm constantly learning about boys daily and Cole helped me discover so much more.  Those big chocolate eyes just melted my heart.  This session was more like a play date.  I think all three of us were dirty before we left but those are the best sessions.  Thanks for letting me play a little bit Cole.  Next time we'll bring bread for the ducks.

Oh yeah, those are the chocolate eyes I'm talking about!

How hilarious is this shot!

david and goliath

Ok, ok so it wasn't a biblical session, but it was a fun sunday afternoon session with Tim and Natalie.  I think Tim is as tall as Natalie is short.  I just enjoyed hanging out with someone shorter than me.  Keep a look out for their wedding pics very soon. They are tying the knot in December and I can't wait!  Here's a few from their engagement session.

My favorite one!! It just looks romantic.

photoshop nightmare!!

I'm sorry it's been so long posting but it's been a nightmare around here.  Photoshop has not been very cooperative for the past two weeks. BUT, I came out victorious in the war. Thanks for being so patient!

Pumpkins and hay everywhere!

This is Matthew and Raine.  I had such a great time with these two.  I couldn't get Raine to stop smiling if I tried! She had such a big smile on her face the entire time.  It was priceless!  I'm going to say it was me, but I'm sure the hay crawl had something to do with it.

pumkin' patch pics

This is Julia and Molly.  I have never met two more polite little girls.  Their shyness was so sweet.  However, it didn't take long for them to get up and going at the hay crawl. Sweet, sweet girls!
A special thanks to the corn maze in LaFollette for allowing me to take pictures.  If you haven't been up there yet, it's really nice.  They have hay rides, two corn mazes, hay crawl, goats and donkeys, a camp fire and even marshmallows for you to roast!  Go check them out! They are open until November 1st.

k-i-s-s-i-n-g

I loved taking mark and beth's pictures.  I had such a blast just watching them.  They were so cute and in love - you know, that huggy and kissy love where you just can't get enough of the other one.  Yeah, that's the one.  I can't wait to shoot their wedding!  It's going to be such a blast.
We won't mention the truck shots.  I don't have them edited yet but I'll get them up soon. By the way, if someone is looking at these pictures and you think the truck may be yours but the people in it doesn't look familiar, it wasn't me who took these pictures.

I just put a few on here because I'm still working on them and I don't want to give too much away for them.

lake and tracey

Ok, at least I know that I have one fan.  Lakean just keeps coming back for more.  I'm not complaining either!  Here's a few we shot as we were just driving down the road trying to find a different spot.  Crazy but fun!

just the train track type

Daniel and Amber are by far my favorite couple EVER!!! I just hang around them and hope their coolness rubs off on me.  Not only are they beautifully original outside, but they are gorgeously unique inside as well.  I love these two so much.  Thank you for letting me sneak into your world for an hour or two.  I love you guys.

tinsel and trees

My dad used to sing that old country song, "Christmas times a comin', Christmas times a comin', Christmas times a comin', and I know it won't be long" and I knew it was getting close when I heard it.  Well guess what.  Christmas times a comin' ready or not in less than 3 months! Can you believe it?
Tinsel and trees is just an idea that I had to shoot Christmas/winter pictures at a Christmas tree farm.  How cute!  Christmas trees everywhere, wooly hats, mittens, scarfs, and that coat that you paid an arm and a leg for!  I just thought it would be a different take on the normal Christmas pictures.  If you are interested in maybe making these pictures into Christmas cards,  please let me know asap so we can get you an appointment and get those cards ordered.  I have a few dates set aside so take a look at my website and let's get something going  - www.sophiemacphotography.com. I'm still doing in-studio Christmas pictures as well.  I just thought I'd offer a little something different for those who like options.

pictures in the patch

I'm taking fall pictures on field trip to the pumpkin patch.  If you are interested, please give me a call or shoot me an email and we'll get something going.  How cute would it be to get pictures of your angels in their Halloween costumes surrounded by pumpkins!  Please check my website calendar for available dates.  www.sophiemacphotography.com

Big announcements!!!! Oh yeah, huge!!!

Which one do I start with?  HMMmmm...... I guess I'll go with my biggest news first. No, I'm not pregnant, but I do have a studio.  Well, I'll have it some time this month!  I'm so excited!!! I can't wait!  I'll keep you updated on the progress.  And the second announcement, I'm booking dates for fall pictures now.  I already have people wanting those colorful leaves and warmer clothes captured on camera.  I'm ready for fall too!  Bring it on.  I've already put Sophia in her Vol's cheerleading uniform.  That alone means it's fall time in Tennessee.  And announcement number three.  I have Christmas cards.  If you already have had your pictures made, let's get them into a holiday card.  If you haven't, what are you waiting for?  Let's get those cards ready.  You can order them in orders of 12.
Whew!  Big, crazy stuff going on around here. Keep checking back!

It's raining it's pouring!

Every kid has something that they get attached to.  As you can see for Jed, it's the beautiful blue rain boots that are in almost every picture.  His mom was about to die, but I thought it was hilarious!  Hannah was such a big girl and helped me wrangle him back in when he got distracted.  Thanks for your help Hannah!
